2020 Worlds Will Not Be Cancelled or Postponed, per Chinese Official

2020 League of Legends World Championship will not be cancelled or postponed, a Chinese official Wei Huang working for the Shanghai government confirmed this week. The statement was made during the China Digital Entertainment Expo & Conference that took place in the Chinese capital.

RIOT Games have revealed their plans to host 2020 Worlds in Shanghai right after the conclusion of the last year’s championship. The initial plan was to organize the tournament in October in the Shanghai Pudong district, as it seems that currently the plants remain unchanged.

Earlier RIOT Games postponed Mid-Season Invitational 2020 first and then cancelled the event, mentioning that all recourses of their esports team will be dedicated to 2020 Worlds. All regular leagues were transferred from offline to online.
