RIOT Games have revealed the details on Mid-Season Cup, a replacement event for the earlier cancelled Mid-Season Invitational. The tournament will feature four best teams from both LPL (China) and LCK (South Korea) competing for a $600,000 prize pool.

The event will be played on May 28th – 31st. The Chinese league will be represented by JD Gaming, Top Esports, FunPlus Phoenix and Invictus Gaming, while T1, Gen.G, DragonX and DAMWON Gaming will represent the South Korean league. The teams will compete from the venues of their leagues without live audience.

The event will begin with a group stage, during which the participants will compete in two round-robin groups with best-of-one series. The groups look as follows:

Group A Group B
DAMWON DragonX
FunPlus Gen.G

Top two teams from each group will advance to the single-elimination playoffs bracket, where all series will be best-of-five. The first game of each series will be played using Blind Pick, with the following games using Draft Pick.

Earlier it was reported that 2020 League of Legends World Championship is still being planned to take place this October in Shanghai, China.
