Nemiga Gaming Win CIS Qualifier for WESG 2019

The Belarusian team Nemiga Gaming has won the CIS regional qualifier for WESG 2019. In the grand finals of the qualifier they defeated WaitForTag, qualifying for the main event where they will compete for a $1,000,000 prize pool.

The qualifier was played on November 11th-27th and featured eight teams competing in a double-elimination bracket with best-of-three series. In the very first series Nemiga Gaming lost to 2byl9 (1-2), and then managed to make it all the way through the lower bracket, where they defeated BMTH (2-0), MAJESTY (2-0), HellRaisers, Na`Vi Junior (2-1). In the grand finals Nemiga outplayed their opponents on Overpass (16:12) and Nuke (16:12).

CIS is one of one of the seven European regions that will be represented at WESG, the other regions are West Europe, North Europe, Central Europe & Iberia, East Europe, Adria, and Russia. The qualifiers are also being held in Americas, China, Asia-Pacific, and Africa.

WESG 2019 will be held this March in Chongqing, China. The tournament’s line-up will consist of 24 teams: besides the qualified squads, there will be five invited teams. Earlier local qualifiers concluded in Southeast Asia and South Africa – these regions will be represented by Big Time Regal Gaming and Energy Esports respectively.
