North Are the Winners of DreamHack Masters Stockholm 2018
North managed to defeat Astralis in the grand finals of DreamHack Masters Stockholm 2018 with the score of 2-1 to become the champions of the $250,000 event.
The event was held on August 29 – September 2 in Stockholm, Sweden and featured 16 competing teams. First, they were split into four groups with GSL format, and then top two teams from each group advanced to a single-elimination playoffs bracket with best-of-three series.
Both North and Astralis qualified for playoffs from Group A, where North placed first by defeating TyLoo and Astralis, while Astralis placed second – they started with a victory against Grayhound Gaming, and after being defeated by North they managed to outplay TyLoo. To reach the grand finals North won against Natus Vincere (2-0) and mousesports (2-1), while Astralis defeated MIBR (2-0) and Ninjas in Pyjamas (2-0). In the grand final North, despite being complete underdogs, emerged victorious with the score of 2-1 (16:1 at Dust II; 6:16 at Train; 16:11 at Overpass).
