RIOT Games Announce First Strike, a Major Valorant Event

RIOT Games have announced the first major Valorant event called First Strike. The tournament will be played in eight regions – North America, Europe, CIS, Turkey, Asia, Oceania, Brazil, and the Middle East. The regional finals will be held from December 3rd to the 6th.

The participants of the event will be determined through open regional qualifiers, which will begin in the second half of October. To participate in the qualifiers, you need to be at least 16 years old and be ranked Immortal 1. Additional details on the event, including its prize pool, will be revealed later.

First Strike will be the first Valorant event organized by RIOT Games. Earlier the esports scene was centred around the Ignition Series, which consisted of third-party tournaments supported by the developers. To prepare for First Strike, the developers will improve anti-cheat and spectator mode, as well as introduce a round reset feature.
