Silent is back to Team Empire

Airat ”Silent” Gaziev is officially back to Team Empire. He will play in carry position and replace Vladimir "Chappie" Kuzmenko, who recently was listed for a transfer.

Silent is one of the most experienced carry-players in CIS region. He used to play for many local organizations, including Team Empire, Virtus.pro, Vega Squadron and others. Due to health problems in last few years, Silent several times went inactive and recently started to play as full-support for Vega. In Team Empire though Silent will be back to his usual position – he will replace Vladimir "Chappie" Kuzmenko and play as carry.

Team Empire esports director Alexandr "StrangeR" Solomonov commented on the transition:

”For Team Empire Silent is not just a player — he is an important part of our history! History which remembers many huge victories. We are lucky enough that Airat was ready to play on a such responsible role when we needed new carry player. I was sure that someday Silent is going to return to Team Empire and I am really happy that it happened today. Some will say it is very risky to invite player who hasn't played recently on a needed position. The truth is that the risk here is lower than we usually take. Fortunately, not everyone is able to assess risks properly. As practice shows game experience is an important part of team success. From that point, Silent is definitely going to help us and good game form can be achieved by training. The beginning of the season was not successful for us but we always have rough autumns. This year we are planning to bounce back a little bit earlier. Also I would like to thank Chappie for his contribution to Team Empire's success. I believe that we were right to choose him but circumstances played against us. Vladimir is a talented and purposeful player, I wish him to move forward no matter what and best of luck”.

In the post-TI shuffle Team Empire parted ways with Vladimir ”RodjER” Nikogosyan, who left the team to join Natus Vincere. Later the team acquired Ivan ”VANSKOR” Skorohod, who joined the team as full-support and in-game leader. Consequently Miposhka changed his role for semi-support. With this line-up Team Empire failed all regional qualifiers in the new season. Later Vladimir "Chappie" Kuzmenko was listed for a transfer. Silent joined the team as a temporary stand-in, with him Team Empire managed to qualify for Adrenaline Cyber League.
