Hearthstone World Championship Will Take Place in Amsterdam
The Grand Finals of Hearthstone Championship Tour (HCT) series will be held on January 18-21, 2018 in Amsterdam. Sixteen players will compete for a $1,000,000 prize pool.
Hearthstone World Championship will take place at Beurs van Berlage Convivence Centre in Amsterdam. Sixteen players will participate in the event – they qualified for it by taking part in seasonal tournaments throughout the year as well as earning competitive points in each region (the Last Call slots).

The tournament will start with a group stage, where player seeding will be determined by their placement in the HCT seasonal events and the Last Call. The matches will be played in Conquest mode, with each game being best-of-seven. Each player choses five decks and bans one of their opponent’s decks. The group stage will be held in the GSL format, with top two players from each group advancing to the single elimination playoffs bracket.
Prize Pool
The tournament features a hefty $1,000,000 prize pool, which will be distributed as follows:
- 1st place – $250,000
- 2nd place – $150,000
- 3rd-4th places – $100,000
- 5th-8th places – $50,000
- 9th-16th places – $25,000
