HOTS Update: New Hero Maiev and Lunar Festival

In the new update for Heroes of the Storm Blizzard introduced a new hero from the Warcraft universe - Maiev, as well as brought back the event confined to Chinese New Year - Lunar Festival. At the moment the update is available on the Test Server, the live servers will be updated on February 5th.

Maiev, The Warden - Assassin

Maiev Shadowsong stood watch over the imprisoned Betrayer for ten thousand years, and hunted him relentlessly after he was released. Some say she's determined; others say she's obsessed. Either way, she will stop at nothing to ensure the security of her world.

Hero Abilities

Trait
	VAULT OF THE WARDENS Leap into the air, becoming immune to all hostile effects for 0.75 seconds. Passive: Maiev has 10 Armor.
Primary abilities
	FAN OF KNIVES Deal 180 damage to enemies in a crescent area. Hitting at least 2 enemy Heroes with Fan of Knives reduces its cooldown to 0.5 seconds, and refunds its Mana cost.
	UMBRAL BIND Maiev's next Basic Attack cleaves and applies a tether to enemy Heroes hit for 2.5 seconds. If a tethered Hero moves too far from Maiev, they are pulled toward her, dealing 110 damage and breaking the tether.
	SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE Send a shadow of Maiev outward that will return to its cast location, dealing 100 damage to enemies along both paths. Deals 100% more damage to enemy Heroes. Reactivate to Blink to the shadow's location.
Heroic abilities
	CONTAINMENT DISC Throw a glaive in the target direction. If an enemy Hero is hit, Containment Disc can be reactivated to remove their vision and Time Stop them for 4 seconds. Containment Disc automatically activates 6 seconds after hitting a Hero.
	WARDEN'S CAGE Summon 8 Warden Avatars as a cage around Maiev. After 1.5 seconds, enemy Heroes that come in contact with an Avatar consume it and are knocked to the center of the cage. Warden Avatars last 7 seconds.

Lunar Festival 2018

Lunar Festival will be held on February 6th - March 5th, it introduces a new quest chain that rewards specific cosmetics, as well as replaces the usual loot chests with the event loot chests that contain some special rewards. Moreover, there will be a special event-themed brawl.

Event Loot Chests

During the Lunar Festival, all Loot Chests you earn through progression, Heroes Brawl, or by spending Gems will be Lunar Festival Loot Chests. (The one exception is Hero-Specific Chests, which will remain unchanged.) The limited-time items have a chance to drop from Lunar Festival Loot Chests only.

Brawl

Mount up and race to the finish line in this free-for-all Brawl. Collect Envelopes to gain abilities and outsmart your opponents - but stay alert, because getting hit by a projectile will knock you off your Mount!

• Heroes automatically move toward their mouse cursor's location!
• Complete 7 laps and win! One player must lose!
• Pick up Envelopes to gain access to different abilities!

The update also contains some balance improvements to Greymane, Malthael, and Tyrael, as well as some interface improvements and bug fixes. The full list of changes can be found on the official website.
