RIOT Games Announce TFT: Galaxies Championship with $200,000 at Stake
RIOT Games have announced the first global tournament for Teamfight Tactics – the event will be called TFT: Galaxies Championship and feature players from all over the world competing for a $200,000 prize pool.
The event’s line-up will consist of 16 players determined through both the in-game ladder and online tournaments. The distribution of the slots looks as follows:
- China, Europe/CIS/Middle East – 3 slots
- Korea, North America, Brazil, Latin America – 2 slots
- Japan, Turkey – 1 slot
The exact dates for TFT: Galaxies Championship are not known yet, however it is supposed to be held at the end of the current set. The details regarding timing will be shared later on this summer. For the future, the developers are determined to organize global events after each set. RIOT Games are also working on tools that are supposed to make it easier to broadcast and operate tournaments.
